Last night, I finished my first knitting-in-the-round project — the multicolored hat mentioned below. It’s topped with an I-cord (my first) and looks fantastic, though it would probably fit a 3-year-old. I think I’m going to try felting it tonight or this weekend so that it’ll fit a newborn. (Assuming it doesn’t look like crap, that is.)
I think my next small project will be to knit an iPod cozy — I’d like to design a square hole in the front so you can view the display. Perhaps a flap on top to optionally cover the screen? (Could keep it out of the way with Velcro.) And I’m toying with experimenting with intarsia (like a skull and crossbones or something similarly punk-rock) or a chunky cable down the front.
Oh I am such a geek.
Just checked my mailbox here at work and the copy of “The Office” DVD I’d ordered two weeks ago was there. Yay! Now if only Parasol Records would ship the many many items (tons of Mountain Goats, Sprites, Ballboy) on order. After all the trouble I had with their online form, I’m not feeling too optimistic.
I think my next entry should have something a little spicy, a little blue, in it. Just sayin’.
Geeky? Geeky is knitting in Fibonacci Sequence! Knitting an iPod cozy is just plain wierd.
