Speaking of comics, can somebody please, please tell me what is supposed to be going on in this cartoon? I consider myself fairly culturally literate and politically aware, but dag, that thing is weirding me out greatly.

   Many of Ronald Regan’s movies were Westerns. So at a guess, I’d say it’s about the former president riding off to the great cactus in the sky.

   It’s based on a drawing done by the cartoonist’s young son, which is absolutely positively not at all about any sort of drugs in any way, manner, shape, form, or strained extended series, no sirree Bob and just say no Nancy.

   but i still don’t get what’s going on with uncle sam — is he taking off his hat all respeckful like? or is he shocked to see the giant bad head up in the clouds as opposed to, uh, somewhere else?
