I haven’t updated in some time because not much of interest has been going on. (And I’ve been extremely PMS-cranky, so there.) Let’s see . . . I devoured Stiff by former Salon columnist Mary Roach, with whom I once had a satisfying email exchange when I saluted her for exposing the fallacy that women who hover and pee all over toilet seats aren’t saving themselves from any awful diseases. I fell in love with Beauty Pill all over again. I watched some more episodes of “Freaks and Geeks.” I scored surprisingly well on the Dog Toy or Marital Aid? quiz. I finished Baby Hat No. 1 (photo TK) and started Bag No. 2. And I reclaimed my new purple Uniball pen from a coworker who walked away with it after leaving a note on my desk while I was down the hall.

   I also did very well on the quiz, which I chalk up to the fact that as a dog owner, I know a lot about dog toys (more than I do about marital aids, anyway). I actually recognized several of them. What a funny idea for a quiz!
