Bleh, meh, and feh

I continue to marvel at the referrers to this wack-ass journal thingy: a recent Googler searched for “stuttering+jury duty” and decided to pop on by.

It’s been a fairly useless day. I spent some time looking at pro-ana/-mia sites — including one that sells solidarity jewelry for those with eating (and other emotional) disorders. Not the best idea. The thought of all these young women hating themselves so much has severely bummed me out. (Does that mean I now need to order a bracelet symbolizing depression?) I’m also mildly anxious that someone who sees me wearing a beaded bracelet will mistake it as a ghoulish token of support for something I consider tragic.

I had to sit through an all-hands marketing team meeting instead of spending lunchtime outside with Jane Austen. And I found out that several of my friends are going sailing in the harbor tonight to watch the Perseids (good luck — the clouds are thick as porridge), but D. and I weren’t invited. Should probably cut my losses and head home.

Geez, it’s like nobody else cares about the tildes…

Maybe they don’t know what tildes are? (One hint: no, they don’t waltz.)

My tildes may not waltz, but you should see them jitterbug!

The only reason I put the silly poll up in the first place was because D. misses them, but I don’t think he’s even voted.

The pro ana/mia stuff worries me, too. What does that say about this culture? Eek.
