Making life tolerable:

Charlotte Hatherley’s single “Kim Wilde,” which I’ve been kind of obsessed with since I first heard it a couple of weeks ago and wondered how someone could possibly cram so many hooks into a pop song. D. bought her (import-only, alas) album Grey Will Fade last weekend, and on first listen, it’s good — but “Kim Wilde” is the tune that fibrillates me but good. Probably not since Fuzzy have I felt such a strong rush over a pop-punk tune, as if spring has come early this year.

And if crunchy guitars and a breathless, Elasticaesque pace aren’t your thing, there’s an accordionized cover. See, allbody’s happy.
