It’s 10:00 . . . do you know where your evening went?

So far tonight (tonight beginning at 7:20, when I got home), I’ve:

  • Done two loads of laundry, courtesy of the extra quarters I managed to rack up today.
  • Sipped a glass of wine.
  • Watched “The Simpsons.”
  • Pawed under the bathroom sink, through 4 bedside drawers, and in my jewelry box for a ponytail holder because my hair is driving. Me. Crazy.
  • Fed the cat and replenished his Secret Water (the oversized soup mug under my desk that we refill every couple of days — he likes to think he’s getting away with sneaking sips from it).
  • Pulled out D’s acoustic guitar. Tried to remember some chords. Hunted down my binder containing tabs and other cheat sheets. Strummed a few easy chords. Cut the nails on my left hand. Realized that the fingers I broke four years ago really don’t want to do what I want them to.
  • Watched about 10 minutes of “The OC.”
  • Fretted about the presentation I’m supposed to help deliver tomorrow in front of my entire department — and the CEO.
  • Poured another glass of wine.
  • Put the first non-flannel sheets on the bed since, oh, October probably.
  • Flipped through a takeout menu, trying to figure out what I want besides a salad — because you know it’s really going to piss the driver off to deliver just a salad.
  • Deleted a ton of horrible, blurred, and/or duped photos from my computer.
  • Thought about finishing the baby slippers (”booties” just sounds so stupid) for Kiyoshi.
  • Played around with Wordcount. (Check out the conspiracies.)

(Re Wordcount) Oh good: another inanely addictive website. About those few chords: my suggestion, is just randomly fliddle the tuning pegs for a bit, then just strum without fretting anything. Congratulations: you are now covering a Jandek song.
