Heading into week 4 of being sick. I saw my doctor yesterday for a checkup, and she wasn’t concerned about my stupid cough and infuriating throat, so it’s up to time and Nyquil, I suppose. Scary thing is, I’m starting to like the taste of Nyquil.
On a happier, healthier note, the past week was one of seconds (attendance at the weekly Bitch and Stitch confluence at Algiers) and firsts (watching — sort of — a football game, and enjoying the evening very much, though I’m certain that had more to do with the company than the gross, slabby men in Spandex) and zeroes (skipping out on Doug’s band’s CD release party because I felt like doody. Great girlfriend, right?

What’s the thing with the eternal coughing? My mom has that too right now. Ugh! I hate it when I can’t go out in public ’cause I’m afraid of having a coughing fit…

I wanted to be at the CD release myself, but we were wiped out. And now I feel a bit sick, too! I guess I couldn’t avoid it forever…

But if you’d gone to the show & then gotten better, they could have promoted the CD with CURES MYSTERIOUS ILLNESSES!!

Hey, sickness trumps good-girlfriendness every time, Missy! And my unsolicited grandma-ish advice: see if you can cut down on the Nyquil. It’s not only addictive but it seems to prolong illness.
