Yee

The latter part of this week? Brutal, enervating, depressing, and nearly punch-someone-you-work-with-in-the-throat-inducing. But I don’t regret having left work early (shortly after 5:00) on Wednesday to meet up with the knit/craft group (fibreposse?) that Terri created. I have such a great time with these women, every single time. I learn stuff, I kvetch and kvell, I encourage others to check out favorite movies and take-out places, and I feel honored to spend time with these fascinating, opinionated, charming, and talented people. Those Wednesday evenings carry through and buoy me through whatever crapfest the job and other stressors have planned for the remainder of the week.

Also, so cool: Terri and LLA and Terri’s sister Kim have interconnected in the geekosphere. I think that the lot of us should have a knit-out pretty soon and take it out of the electronic realm. Just sayin’.

I should head to bed so I can rack out and head into the office tomorrow morning to get the scatload of work done that’s waiting for me. I was so looking forward to a restful and fun three-day weekend, but there’s just too much to get done, and the next few nine weeks are going to be stressful enough as it is. I’m having incredibly unpleasant flashbacks to a time in my career when I hated everything about it, and I hope that things will prove me paranoid and overly sensitive after a couple of months elapse. I hope.

I love our Wednesday meetings, too! I’m so thrilled at what a great success they’ve been. (And I’m semi-guaranteed some weekly Editrix, which is a definite perk.)

Ooo! A craftfest of the bloggers sounds delightful. Kim could bring some sewing or papercraft as she is not a knitter, but I’m sure she would be quite enthusiastic about the idea!

I do hope you can take some time for yourself this weekend. It’s important to refuel, and you certainly deserve it!

Such a small world… (still wouldn’t want to knit a cozy that would fit it, though…)

I envy you the fiber posse - but I am glad that you have something to look forward to, and to take your mind of the work ickiness… (Strange feeling, isn’t it, to be hoping for oversensitivity and paranoia…)

I’m so curious - how did you/Terri/Kim make the connection? I know that I wouldn’t have been clever enough to figure it out on my own, had you not spelled it out for me - but am thrilled to know the “six degrees of separation” that you and I have…

Here’s a little Monday morning distraction for you… You’ve been tagged! See my blog for the dirt. :)

I know, its so weird! I’m not even a knitter & yet, I found lla through bloggy friends. And, of course, I know you through Terri. I’ll bring along my handsewing or paper crafts to a crafting night.
