For the past few days, I’ve considered throwing my camera into my satchel on my way out of the house. And each day, I’ve left it on the coffee table, thinking, Eh, what are the odds that I’ll see something photo-worthy?
Today i wished I had it to take a snapshot of the parking meter showing an hour and nine minutes for Ezra to prove that the parking ticket he got was bogus.
And to photograph the dovecote full of multicolored pigeons, all billing, cooing, and scuffling, which Ez pointed out on the row house behind Advance Auto Parts.
Also, the way the streetlight slatted through the venetian blind at Johnny D’s after dinner made Terri look like a mysterious femme fatale with a fascinating and possibly dangerous past.
Finally, the beautiful old signs along Broadway past Winter Hill for Patsy’s Pastry Shop (”Whipped cream cakes and miniature pastries our specialty!”) and Leone’s Submarine Sandwich and Pizza really need to be documented before ugly condos take their place.

Doesn’t it always seem to work that way?

“dovecote” and “whipped cream cakes”…both sound dreamy…
